Earlier this month, my friends and I craved the tastes of summer: raw oysters, steamed Maryland blue crab, and an obnoxious amount of melted butter. After weeks of salivating over seafood, we made the one-hour trek from DC to Baltimore on MLK Day for a seafood feast at L.P. Steamers, home of the “Boh’t Load of Food”. Three friends + a steamed/raw seafood platter + pitcher of Sam Adams + lots of melted butter = two hours of messy and delicious foodie-friend bonding in Baltimore. Needless to say, we’ll be back this summer for the seasonal Maryland blue crab, but for now, L.P. Steamers’ meaty crab legs are more than worth the drive.

A Boh’t Load of Food: steamed crab (or crab legs during the winter months), clams, mussels, oysters, scallops, shrimp and lobster tail with a pitcher of domestic beer and unlimited cocktail sauce & butter packets. *not pictured: substituted raw oysters and pitcher of Sam Adams
Before and after shots of the Boh’t Load of Food take-down.
Hush puppies with cinnamon-sugar butter = necessary.
