Yesterday evening, I had the chance to enjoy $3 cocktails, deliciously beautiful dumplings plates, and awesome music at a charity event at Ten Tigers Parlour in DC’s Georgia-Petworth neighborhood. Good drinks, chill AAPI-inspired music vibes by DJ Pinstripe Rebel, and an amazing selection of art from Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) artists really characterized the theme of the SAMASAMA Art Show and Gathering. Samasama is Tagalog/Filipino for “you are welcome”, “all together”, and “united”. The name was fitting for both the venue and the charity event, as Ten Tigers brought together a variety of cultures and people under one roof over a shared love for food, music and art. I happily enjoyed spicy dumpling plates while swaying to Bollywood tunes and admiring the variety of art pieces by Filipino-American artists throughout the night. I’ll definitely keep Ten Tigers in mind as the spot to check out throughout the summer!

Crystal Shrimp Dumplings containing the right balance of savory, spicy and tangy in every bite

Road Trip by Julie Kang, a Korean American artist based out of Virginia. Originally wanted this piece, but was too distracted by the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings to claim the art piece in time.

Definitely coming back for the $3 Happy Hour cocktail specials throughout the summer!
